With so many amazing people on the bill Saturday Night in the CAASTRO Amphitheatre, it was paramount we have an equally incredible host to take you through the events of the evening. So, we are very pleased to to have molecular biologist, science communicator, coordinator of @ and all-round lover of science from Monash University, Upulie Divisekera.
Upulie knows all about using light to see the smallest of objects, spending much of her time in the lab with microscopes. She is also into astropalentology and dinosaurs to name just a few of the many sciences that capture her curiosity.
As co-founder and coordinator for the RealScientists Twitter handle @ – a Twitter account curated by a different scientist every week to tell you all about their work and life as a scientist – Upulie began this amazing resource because
We all begin life as scientists. As little children, we observe, we discover, we ask questions, we form hypotheses, we test them. Real Scientists is about the people who never stopped asking.
And AstroLight is all about inspiring children and adults alike to never stop asking or start asking again! So of course Upulie and AstroLight are a perfect fit.
Upulie was also on the Q&A science episode earlier this year amongst an amazing panel of outstanding scientists. She has done TEDx talks and is regularly seen around the public science traps, including the Wheeler Centre and various radio stations.
You can follow Upulie herself on Twitter (@) for an insight into the trials and tribulations and wonder of life in the research lab.
