LEGO. The indestructible, building toy that has been helping build our imagination for more than 50 years. Those little building blocks have inspired theme parks, artists, collectors and kids alike. The toy that develops spatial recognition skills, creativity and in more recent times programming and robotics.
This year at AstroLight, the Pumping Station will have a CAASTRO table of LEGO for you to build a rocket ship, a space alien or a telescope. Take a picture of your creation and post it on your favourite social media with #astrolight16. To make sure everyone gets a chance to build their own creation, you will have to leave yours behind when you are finished.
In addition, Brain Bricks Pty Ltd and Outer Eastern Young Engineers will also be set up in the Scienceworks Pumping Station with their LEGO display. Come and check out this amazing program and see how LEGO is inspiring young children to become Engineers and Scientists.
Outer Easter Young Engineers
The stall will display to the parents, children and other attendees various models from specialised Lego kits covering Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics principles. These models are motorised and assist primary school children in building interest in science while building their analytical and behavioral skills.
Brain Bricks T/A Outer Eastern Young Engineers is an organization which partners with local primary schools to bring the Lego based Young Engineers STEM program to them. It aims at building the child’s interest in STEM in their early years.
So make sure you drop by and build some LEGO and see how this famous little brick is continuing to teach our children so much!
