We are very excited to have PrimeSCI! run an interactive stall again this year on all things Light. They will be set up in the Scienceworks Pumping Station and will have many hands-on activities that explore the properties of light, especially good for the younger audience members. Here is more from PrimeSCI! on what you can do at their tables:
PrimeSCI! has a range of fun hands-on light and colour activities for children and families. Come and find us way down the back of the Pumping Station in the dark, where you will be able to split light, merge colours, play with shadows and trick your brain with some fun illusions.
Sir Isaac Newton spent a lot of time working with the separate and combined colours of ‘optical’ light, or the light our human eyes can see. When Red, Green and Blue light are mixed we see white light and our electronic screens use this mixing of these three colours to make all of the other colours we see on our TVs, computers and phones. Clever!
